Civil & Site Engineer Jobs
Engineering & ManufacturingCurrently tracking 28 open roles for this career path in Ireland.
With Ireland in the middle of its most ambitious infrastructure investment cycle in a generation, civil engineering remains one of the deepest talent pools on HiringNow.ie — 338 active roles across the country, with particular strength in Dublin, Cork, and Kildare.
The single largest employer is AECOM, operating from One Burlington Plaza on Burlington Road, Dublin 4, with a water team of approximately 600 experts across the UK and Ireland. AECOM has been supporting Uisce Éireann (Irish Water) since the inception of its Resident Engineer programme seven years ago, and is currently expanding its team of Civil Resident Engineers — Senior REs, REs, and Assistant REs — to deliver Uisce Éireann's Capital Investment Plan. If you're looking for a career in water infrastructure, this is the programme to watch.
Housebuilding is the other major demand driver. Cairn Homes, based at 20 Merrion Road, Dublin 4, recruits Site Engineers for residential projects like Mariavilla, where duties include setting out for subcontractors, supervising groundworks and concrete frame contractors, and maintaining quality assurance documentation. A minimum of 2–3 years' experience and a HETAC Level 8 Engineering qualification are typically required. Glenveagh Properties, named one of Ireland's Best Large Workplaces in 2026 and the first construction company in the country to receive the Gold Investors in Diversity mark, recruits site engineers from its Maynooth Business Campus in Kildare for residential developments in North County Dublin. BAM offers positions on civils projects in Co. Cork, with benefits including an 8% pension contribution, private health insurance, and 26 days' annual leave.
Beyond the major contractors, specialist consulting firms add depth to the market. WSP in Naas, Co. Kildare recruits for niche roles like Tailings and Geotechnical Engineer. RPS Group is hiring Resident Engineers Electrical for major water utility projects in the South East, South West, and North West. OCSC Consulting Engineers has positions for resident engineers in Limerick and Cork.
What qualifications do you need? A Level 8 degree in civil, structural, or environmental engineering is the standard baseline. For resident engineer roles on Uisce Éireann's framework, seven or more years of post-graduate experience is typical. The most in-demand skills include AutoCAD, Civil 3D, BIM, contract administration, and familiarity with the public works contract forms. For graduates, both AECOM and Glenveagh offer structured graduate programmes with September 2026 start dates — a clear entry point into one of the most demand-heavy disciplines in the country.
