Job Description

This is a full time, permanent position. Shift work is required for this role, Working a biweekly rotating shift pattern, which is: All shifts 14:00 – 02:00 Week 1: either Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Week 2: Wednesday & Thursday. OR Week 1: 02:00 – 14:00 Monday & Tuesday then 08:00 – 20:00 Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Week 2: 14:00 – 02:00 Wednesday & Thursday.

As a Process Science Laboratory Technician you will provide laboratory support to the client’s Process Science team under the customer quality system, using customer company procedures, and while adhering to Eurofins PSS  general policies and standards.

Job Responsibilities that you be covering:

  • You will support upstream and downstream process activities, including equipment set‑up, preparation of media/feeds/buffers, and the assembly and operation of bioreactors in line with Eurofins quality and compliance standards.
  • You will perform routine preparation, calibration, and maintenance of laboratory and bioprocess equipment, ensuring instruments, probes, and systems are serviced, replenished, and functioning to support project timelines.
  • You will carry out bioreactor sampling and manage sample submissions, ensuring all samples are collected, labelled, documented, and submitted in accordance with site procedures and regulatory expectations.
  • You will maintain a clean, safe, and compliant laboratory environment, completing periodic cleaning of biosafety cabinets, fume hoods, incubators, fridges, freezers, water baths, and other essential laboratory assets.
  • You will monitor and maintain laboratory stock levels, ensuring materials, consumables, and reagents are available, organised, and replenished to support continuous operational efficiency.
  • You will complete all documentation and training records to Eurofins standards, ensuring accuracy, traceability, and compliance while upholding company expectations for safety, quality, housekeeping, and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

What skills, qualifications and experiences you will hold as an Process Science Laboratory Technician:

  • You will hold a Diploma in a relevant scientific discipline, demonstrating foundational knowledge in laboratory science.
  • Hold relevant laboratory experience, ideally within a GMP‑regulated environment.
  • Demonstrate strong planning and organisational skills, enabling effective prioritisation and workflow management.
  • Show excellent accuracy and attention to detail, ensuring high‑quality work and compliant documentation.
  • Work effectively as part of a team, contributing positively to collaborative laboratory operations.
  • Possess strong IT skills, with the ability to use laboratory systems, software, and digital documentation tools confidently.
  • Communicate effectively, both internally and externally, maintaining clarity and professionalism.
  • Be familiar with pharmaceutical and laboratory operations, including GMP principles, documentation practices, autoclave use, and sample management.
