Job Description
The Data Structures Specialist will support the Geospatial and Asset Information Team to meet Client's requirements for geospatial, project and asset data. In close collaboration with the Digital Function, the role holder will work towards establishing an asset management approach that relies on the adoption and implementation of UniClass. This role ensures best use of existing digital solutions within Client.
The role holder will work with key stakeholders that are tasked with the construction and installation of Client’s assets and those tasked with the operation and maintenance of those assets.
Responsibilities:
- Assist delivery teams in meeting Client's requirements for asset data and ensure that all asset data meets the necessary information needs and acceptance criteria.
- Help establish an asset management approach that uses Uni Class and existing digital solutions effectively.
- Support research and suggest key technologies to drive the project's asset management approach.
- Collaborate with stakeholders involved in the construction, installation, operation, and maintenance of Client’s assets.
- Support the capture, production, management, and dissemination of structured data related to the physical and functional characteristics of Client's assets throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain Client's information standards, ensuring adherence to established production methods and procedures for asset data.
- Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of asset data by implementing quality control measures and best practices.
- Identify opportunities for improvement in data management practices and systems, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the Client Digital Function.
- Perform additional tasks, activities or other duties as may be required or assigned as part of the role.
Qualifications
- >5 years’ experience in data production and management including 5 years’ experience creating and managing detailed information about project assets, from start to finish, for a large metro rail project or similar complex construction projects or organisation.
- Experience collaborating with a range of stakeholders at all levels across the organisation influencing the improvement of processes and providing guidance to support project delivery and reporting.
- Experience in master data management, reference data structures, data modelling and data architecture
- Strong expertise in conceptual, logical and physical data modelling
- Familiarity with industry frameworks (e.g. DAMA-DMBOK)
Skills
- Hands-on Understanding of the production and management of geospatial, project and asset data.
- Knowledge of data integration and schemas
- Knowledge of quality management and process improvement practices and systems is desirable, preferably within the construction sector.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to facilitate clear and consistent dialogue between all parties involved.
- Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and ensure cohesive project delivery.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and environments.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and relate to both technical and non-technical individuals and groups.
- Knowledge of asset management (ISO 55001) and BIM international standards (ISO19650)
Formal Education Qualifications
- Level 8 undergraduate degree in data analytics, mathematics, engineering, computer science, information systems or an equivalent background.
