What is the role?
The Senior Maintenance Technician is responsible for providing engineering support to existing and new processes to meet Quality, Service and Cost Objectives at the Aerogen Shannon Manufacturing facility. Other activities may be assigned by the Engineering Lead and Production Engineering Manager.

This role operates on a three-cycle rotating shift, meaning you will workdays, evenings and nights on an ongoing weekly rotation. Each shift lasts 8 hours. You will move through these shifts in a rolling rotation, ensuring full operational coverage across all hours. 

What are the key responsibilities? 
Work with the Manufacturing team (Production, Engineering and Quality) to manage and prioritize assignments ensuring Product quality and production schedule are met. 
Manage external vendor support to complete required services in a GMP compliant manner. 
Contribute to the drive to effectively managing spares and consumables in a timely cost-effective manner. 
Electrical and mechanical trouble shooting of equipment and process issues. 
Documenting machine interventions and returning equipment to Production in compliance with Aerogen’s procedures.
Methodically cataloguing and communicating line performance and down-time issues. 
Continuous Improvement of Maintenance and Manufacturing documentation through change control. 
Support the Engineering team with product failure investigation and process investigations. 
Participate in project teams contributing to Engineering, Safety, Quality and Continuous Improvement targets. 
Training of Maintenance/Engineering staff and/or relevant Production Operators in correct use of process equipment and in product specifications.
Ensure all production equipment, processes and work areas meet Health & Safety requirements through the completion of the required documentation.
Maximize the availability of all equipment to ensure full operations schedule adherence.
Support all customers, FDA and NSAI audits when required. 
Supports, as necessary, other functions to achieve timely product shipments. 
Maintain training up to date on assigned procedures and processes.   
Perform other assigned tasks and support all aspects of Manufacturing Engineering as directed by the Engineering Lead.

What education and experience are required? 
Certificate or Diploma in engineering or science discipline or similar relevant experience. 
Minimum 8 years’ experience within a similar role. 
Experience of Induction Brazing of metals and Surface Mount Technology is essential for this role. 
Knowledge of Mikron assembly automation technology is a distinct advantage for this role.

What key skills will make you great at the role? 
Industrial experience supporting Manufacturing equipment. 
Strong mechanical troubleshooting ability. 
Must be able to work under limited supervision. 
Work as part of the engineering team to ensure the smooth development & handover of projects.
Identify, specify, and introduce Manufacturing methods and opportunities into the company. 
Electrical troubleshooting is an advantage. 
Self-starter with ability to work independently under pressure and react quickly to changing priorities.
Meticulous attention to detail while also conveying a sense of urgency. 
Strong problem-solving capability, possessing a demonstrated capacity to identify problem root causes, deliver solutions, with appropriate risk assessment. 
Work closely with Quality, Production and Supply Chain departments to establish and identify the conditions that underpin Reliable Equipment and Manufacturing Processes. 
Flexibility to work a mix of shift patterns. 
Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
