As National Account Manager, you will be the senior commercial lead for ALS Environmental in Ireland, acting as the primary escalation point and strategic contact for key clients across Environmental Water & Land markets. You’ll protect and grow existing high-value accounts, identify organic growth opportunities, and support new business development in line with ALS revenue, EBIT and ROS targets.

Hours: Full time, permanent Monday to Friday
Reporting to: Sarah Middleton, Commercial Manager
The day-to-day
In this role, you will:
- Lead key client relationships across Ireland, building strong multi-level stakeholder networks.
- Act as the senior escalation point for commercially/operationally significant issues, ensuring timely resolution.
- Run regular client meetings and service reviews to protect performance and uncover opportunities.
- Deliver structured key account plans, focused on retention, growth and profitability (ROS).
- Identify and execute organic growth opportunities within existing accounts (expanded scope, increased share of spend, deeper partnerships).
- Lead tenders/bids and complex commercial opportunities, ensuring high-quality submissions.
- Own pricing for new opportunities and major projects, aligned to EBIT/ROS targets.
- Maintain oversight of contract costs and performance.
- Represent ALS externally and stay current on relevant regulations, market trends and testing innovations.
- Partner with sales, commercial and operational teams to grow ALS Environmental’s Irish Water & Land business.
The essentials
We’re looking for a confident communicator and senior relationship builder with strong commercial discipline. You’ll be comfortable operating at all levels from technical discussions through to commercial negotiation and escalation management.
You will also bring:
- Proven experience in senior account management / key account management / national account management within a technical B2B environment (ideally environmental testing, analytical services or closely related sectors).
- A track record of protecting and growing high-value accounts through structured account planning and stakeholder management.
- Strong commercial acumen, including pricing, tendering, margin/ROS focus and contract performance management.
- Experience leading cross-functional account activity with sales, commercial and operational teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the credibility to engage senior client stakeholders.
- A proactive, resilient and collaborative approach, with strong ownership and follow-through.
