We are looking for an engineering leader for Amazon CloudFront in Dublin to innovate and solve some of the hardest problems in scale, security and automation.

Amazon CloudFront is a fast content delivery network (CDN) service that securely delivers data, videos (Live and Video on demand), applications, and APIs to customers globally with low latency, high transfer speeds, all within a developer-friendly environment. Our customers use CloudFront for fast and secure delivery of web/application content, e-commerce, gaming platforms, financial workloads, on-demand video/music streaming, and live events streaming. Our team writes software which works flawlessly for millions of transactions every second and exabytes of data transfer.

This leader will delight our customers by driving innovation in CDN security space, build intelligent services that will analyze customer workloads & configurations to come up with optimal CloudFront setup recommendations and bring down resolution time for any customer issue with automation.

An ideal candidate must have experience dealing with ambiguity and should enjoy building and operating one of the largest systems in the world with a relentless focus on operational and engineering excellence. They must have strong technical depth and ability to grow team, code, and customer outcomes at a rapid pace. Self-ability to directly work and manage junior and senior engineers along with a strong focus on operational and engineering excellence is a must.

About the team
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.

You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. Basic Qualifications

- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience in engineering team management
- Experience in engineering
- Experience partnering with product and program management teams

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
