Apple Services Engineering (ASE) builds and provides the systems and infrastructure that enable Apple's services at massive scale — such as iCloud, AppleTV, Music and App Store. We are the foundation on which Apple's software developers build the services our customers love.
The ASE Quality of Service team are looking for a passionate and talented engineer to help deliver Apple customers the best quality of service for the App Store, Apple Music, Apple TV and more. Our services must scale globally, be highly available, performant, and simply "just work". We are hiring an outstanding individual to join the ASE Quality of Service Operations team in Cork, Ireland. Our engineers develop tools, monitoring solutions and operational processes to help Apple deliver the highest quality services to our customers.
We are responsible for the software that drives real-time end-to-end quality of service, and influences the performance of Apple’s vast service delivery architecture. We are looking for a standout colleague who is able to take on challenges under tight deadline constraints and deliver imaginative solutions to complex problem
- Build applications and real-time dashboards to monitor the quality of Apple Services
- Design, build and operate tools and processes to detect, react to, and mitigate production issues affecting Apple Services
- Execute incident command and coordination across ASE teams
- Independently network to influence and collaborate with technical and non-technical teams
- Create and deliver presentations across teams, partners and to senior leadership
- Rotating on-call shifts (including periodic weekends)
- Experience with distributed systems and delivering internet services at scale
- Programming via agile/best practice methodologies, in languages such as Golang, Java, JavaScript, Python, Swift etc
- Experience with monitoring technologies such as Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk etc
- Familiarity with containerisation, orchestration and deployment technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, etc
- Knowledge of core internet protocols/platforms such as CDN, DNS, HTTP, SSL, TCP, etc
- Proven ability to self-start, learn, plan, prioritize, share knowledge and deliver to deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to create solutions which are maintainable, understandable and diagnosable
- Experience implementing AI solutions, with a solid grasp of agent-based systems and Multi-Component Platforms (MCPs)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- In-depth industry experience
