As an R2R Accountant within our EMEIA Global Business Solutions (GBS) organisation, you will own and manage the accounting, US GAAP, local statutory, and tax compliance for a portfolio of legal entities. This role grants primary responsibility for financial accounting, including key compliance filings and managing relationships with external advisors and auditors. You will ensure the accurate and timely completion of monthly and quarterly close processes for your entities, and establish and maintain a strong control environment. In this dynamic role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the accounting, US GAAP, local statutory, and tax compliance for a portfolio of legal entities across EMEIA. Your responsibilities will include: Serving as the key point of contact for your assigned entities, holding overall financial accounting responsibility, including the preparation of high-quality financial statements. This requires close partnership with R2R, GBS pillars, EMEIA Tax, Corporate Legal, and other Finance and Business teams. Overseeing the preparation of corporate income tax returns and other required compliance filings (e.g., Pillar 2, DST, copyright). Managing critical relationships with external advisors and statutory auditors throughout the statutory and tax compliance cycles. Ensuring the flawless execution of monthly and quarterly close processes for entities/accounting areas under your control, adhering strictly to regional close timetables. Supporting the R2R team in all external audits, including tax audits from governmental agencies. Establishing and maintaining a robust control environment to ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) processes. Ensuring appropriate systems, processes, tools, and business relationships are in place for effective legal entity controllership and compliance. Actively contributing to GBS initiatives and supporting ad-hoc projects, providing variety and broader impact within the organisation.
  • Fully Qualified Accountant with 3+ years of post-qualification experience.
  • Strong technical proficiency in US GAAP, IFRS, and FRS is required.
  • Strong Financial and Analytical Acumen: Ability to manage complex accounting/tax calculation models, interpret large sets of financial data, and provide clear guidance on compliance strategies.
  • Detail-Oriented and Organized: Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to independently manage and prioritise multiple deliverables to meet ambitious deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative Mindset: Proven experience working across multiple regions and organisational functions, demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.
  • Problem Solver: Adept at assessing complex accounting and tax situations, identifying risks, and providing practical solutions that address both regulatory and business needs.
  • Experience with statutory financial statements compliance.
  • Proficiency in corporate income tax return compliance and tax accounting.
  • Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with finance and tax software (including SAP), automation tools, and reporting systems. Experience with data management, validation, and visualization tools is a plus.
