About the Job 

 

Ardmac are looking to recruit a Junior BIM Technician who will work with the BIM Manager and other team colleagues in implementing the firm's BIM workflow. This role involves assisting in the development of innovative BIM processes. The Junior BIM Technician will also contribute to our BIM development roadmap, ensuring the company remains at the forefront of BIM technology and practices. 
 
Responsibilities of the Junior BIM Technician:

In this role, you will be working on the following tasks: 

 

BIM Development & Standards 

  • Assist the BIM Manager in developing, implementing, and enforcing BIM standards across the company. 
  • Monitor the rollout of BIM protocols, including BIM Stage 2 certification, ensuring compliance with the latest industry standards. 
  • Support the design team in BIM project setup and provide technical assistance on BIM-related issues. 

 

Project Involvement 

  • Attend project kick-off meetings to outline BIM requirements, naming conventions, and workflows to project teams. 
  • Contribute to the development of BIM Execution Plans (BEP) and review client BEPs for tender submissions. 
  • Provide input regarding resource requirements and ensure BIM standards are followed on live projects. 
  • Participate in weekly and monthly reviews with teams to assess BIM progress and compliance. 

 

BIM Innovation 

  • Explore new BIM tools, add-ons, and processes. Supporting the AR and VR development in Ardmac. 
  • Contribute to the development and management of BIM libraries and templates to standardize practices across the group. 
  • Assist in delivering BIM training workshops for various departments, ensuring teams are proficient in the latest BIM technologies. 

 

Required Candidate Experience and Qualifications

Qualifications: 

BSc. in Architectural Technology or a related field OR Degree or certification in BIM-related studies 

  

Ability and knowledge of: 

  • BIM – Autodesk Revit, Navisworks & AutoCAD 
  • Knowledge of ISO EN 19650  
  • Knowledge of BIM standards Level of Information Need, BIM stages, BIM dimensions 
  • Drawing Symbols & Standards 
  • Innovative technologies and advancements 
  • Experience in developing parametric families in Revit
