Data Controller

Location: Little Island, Cork Company: Laya Healthcare Department: Customer Service Reporting to: Customer Support Manager Contract Type: Temporary About the Role Laya Healthcare is seeking a detail-oriented Data Controller to join our Customer Service team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the integrity of data and accuracy, and reliability of electronically generated data across the organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for validating system-generated data, supporting reporting processes, and working closely with internal stakeholders to uphold the highest data quality standards. Key Responsibilities Validate and control electronically generated data and reports in line with operational schedules Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all data outputs Verify data by cross-checking with originating departments or sources Prepare and distribute validated reports to management on a regular basis Support validation processes for inpatient and outpatient claims, including EFT file generation Act as a key point of contact for resolving data integrity issues with stakeholders Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance data validation efficiency Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) as required Adhere to defined validation procedures and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives Skills & Experience Minimum 3 years’ experience in financial services or a similar regulated environment Experience in data validation, reporting, or working within a quality-focused environment Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail Ability to challenge and prevent the release of invalid or incomplete data Strong communication skills and confidence liaising with stakeholders at all levels Qualifications Leaving Certificate (minimum requirement) Third-level qualification (Certificate/Diploma/Degree) desirable Advanced Excel skills are essential Experience with Avondhu or similar systems is an advantage What We’re Looking For A proactive and methodical approach to work Strong sense of accountability and ownership Ability to work independently with minimal supervision A continuous improvement mindset
