Join AXA Insurance as Head of Commercial & Intermediary Distribution. In this strategic leadership role, you will be at the forefront of our all-Ireland approach, playing a pivotal part in driving growth and customer engagement. As a key member of the senior management team, you will oversee an annual revenue exceeding €500 million, shaping the future of our distribution strategy. Leading a talented senior team - including the Retail ROI Sales Manager, MGA & Schemes Sales Manager, Commercial & Direct Sales Manager, and Northern Ireland Sales Manager—you will champion the expansion of our presence across Ireland. Your focus will be on fostering strong customer relationships, enhancing sales performance, and aligning growth with profitability and strategic objectives. You'll work majority of your week away from home. Away from home means either attendance at one of our head office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events. What you’ll be doing: Lead and inspire the Commercial, Retail, and Direct Sales teams, setting ambitious yet achievable targets to maximise income and profit. Develop and communicate a clear vision and strategic direction for distribution channels. Take strategic ownership of broker, MGA, wholesale accounts, and relationships, including deal negotiations and customer management. Proactively gather broker feedback to enhance service delivery and support strategic initiatives. Act as the senior escalation point for distribution issues impacting partner satisfaction and retention. Establish a strong external market presence and reputation as a market leader and key figure within AXA Ireland. Oversee the development and management of propositions for broker and direct channels, including new deal processes and strategic planning. Create and execute a comprehensive Distribution and Market Development strategy across broker, MGA, direct, and digital channels. Build and nurture high-level relationships with brokers, networks, MGAs, and key partners. Drive sales budgets, overseeing new business, retention, and profitability targets across all channels. Negotiate commission structures, service agreements, and SLAs. Conduct market intelligence and competitor analysis to inform strategic decisions. About You/What we’re looking for: Minimum of 10 years' sales experience, including at least 5+ years leading omni-channel sales teams. Holds an ACII qualification or equivalent; a bachelor's degree or higher is preferred. Proven experience managing distribution, sales, or broker relationships within commercial and/or retail insurance. Strong knowledge of legislative and regulatory insurance requirements. Proficient across Commercial and Retail lines of business. Demonstrates excellent relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills. Deep understanding of AXA’s commercial and intermediary product offerings, underwriting, and risk management. Experienced in team leadership, resource management, and business development. Skilled in business profitability analysis and data-driven decision making. Track record of successfully driving profitable growth and building high-level partner relationships. Technical Commercial underwriting expertise would be beneficial. A proven track record of driving growth in the insurance industry, with a strategic vision, and deep understanding of Ireland's insurance distribution landscape. This role is allocated CF1 role under Fitness & Probity Regime, which means the successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced level of background screening requirements.
