Overview

We are seeking a qualified and commercially focused Qualified Accountant to join our team in Waterford City. The successful candidate will play a key role in financial reporting, management accounting, compliance, forecasting, and business decision-making.

Working closely with the Accounts, Management Teams and external stakeholders, you will help ensure robust financial controls, accurate reporting, and effective financial management across multiple franchises and projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious accountant seeking a broad and varied role with strong progression prospects.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting & Reporting

• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate variances.
• Prepare and post journals, accruals, prepayments, and intercompany transactions.
• Support year-end audit processes and liaise with external auditors.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, manufacturing account reporting, and KPI’s.
• Support credit control activities and cash management processes.
• Review and prepare forecasts and cash flow projections.
• Monitor overhead expenditure and investigate financial variances.
• Deliver accurate and timely financial information to support business decision-making.
• Review payroll reconciliations and related processes.
• Maintain accurate and complete financial records in line with regulatory requirements.

Process Improvement

• Review and enhance financial procedures, systems, and internal controls.
• Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements.
• Assist in driving efficiencies across finance operations.
• Support and mentor junior team members where required.

Qualifications

• ACA, ACCA, CPA, or CIMA qualified.
• Minimum of 3-5 years' post-qualification experience (PQE) in financial accounting, management accounting, or a similar role.

Technical Skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Proven experience preparing management accounts and financial reports.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and variance analysis skills.
