Who We Are
Brothers of Charity Services Ireland offers a variety of residential, day, respite, assessment, and clinical services to individuals with varying degrees of intellectual disability. Many of the people we support have additional needs, including autism, behaviours that challenge, and physical or sensory disabilities.
Services and supports are provided to over 6,500 people, and their families, throughout Counties Clare, Cork, Galway, Kerry, Kilkenny, Limerick, Roscommon, Tipperary, Wexford and Waterford. Brothers of Charity Services Ireland employs nearly 6,000 staff with a wide range of professional backgrounds, who are motivated in their work by the shared Ethos, Vision, and Values of the organisation.
We work in partnership with local communities, state agencies and voluntary organisations to initiate and develop increasingly inclusive opportunities, for and with, the people who use the Brothers of Charity Services. Applications are invited for the following position:
EXTERNAL ADVERT
Caretaker
Permanent 30/78 hours per fortnight
LOCATION: WEST LIMERCK CHILDREN’S SERVICES
Essential:
• Proven experience/ability to undertake caretaking duties
• Experience in grounds keeping (e.g. garden maintenance)
• Understanding/experience in electrics, plumbing and carpentry
• Experience and understanding of Health and Safety issues
• Experience of taking responsibility for the security of a building
• Full clean manual driving licence
• Ability to work effectively and supportively as a member of the West Limerick Children’s Services team
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to act on own initiative, dealing with any unexpected problems that arise
• Good organisational and time management skills

Panels may be formed as a result of the interview process. Candidates who are placed on a panel will be considered for subsequent vacancies, for a period of up to one year, for this grade. These vacancies could be for part time, relief hours, fixed term or temporary positions.
