HR People Partner
The HR People & Recruitment Partner is responsible for the delivery, through effective business partnering with key stakeholders, of the Cairn People strategy and achieving optimum resourcing in line with the strategic workforce plan.

Key Responsibilities
- HR Business Partnering
- Develop strong relationships with the management teams to become a trusted advisor on all people related topics and HR related issues.
- Support and provide guidance to our people managers, across multiple sites, completing performance feedback and one-to-one conversations, ensuring consistency and transparent processes are maintained across the business.
- Provides guidance and counselling to people managers and employees on employee relations, employee discipline, and performance.
- Assist management to translate company objectives to individual goals that align focus and outcomes.
- Work with respective people managers to ensure HR policies, procedures and laws are being adhered to.
- Investigate and manage employee relations issues and ensure compliance with company disciplinary procedure.
- Evaluate completed performance feedback appraisals and link to personnel and team development plans.
- Develop performance improvement plans and coaching agendas as required.
- Champion the Cairn People Manager Framework to develop talent within the organisation.
- Implement the Performance Management process and reviews with a focus on mentoring in areas of performance management to ensure employees are appropriately evaluated to enable career development and an effective talent pipeline.
- Support the onboarding of new hires into the business aligned to our People Plan.
- Interpret and advise on employment legislation and support in the development of best practice policies & procedures.
- Participate in and lead new HR initiatives & programs.
- Facilitate internal workshops as required (e.g. Forums, ED&I training sessions)
- Assist with the annual performance cycle, working with people managers & employees with objective setting sessions.
Recruitment & Selection Activities
- Work closely with the people leadership team to translate annual workforce planning and organogram analyses into tailored hiring strategies.
- Design and drive the adoption of consistent recruiting, interviewing and hiring practices that support a strong candidate experience.
- Monitor the consistent progress of recruitment campaigns and talent pipeline coverage against targets, highlighting potential risks and gaps.
- Deliver upon and manage the end-to-end recruitment and selection activities for open roles across Cairn’s site and central office teams.
- Owner of Cairn benchmarking data, supporting ad hoc benchmarking requests along with annual benchmarking market analysis.
Stakeholder Partnerships
- Collaborate with people managers to track ongoing hiring needs of their business and ensure the candidate experience is high quality and central to Cairn’s recruitment practices.
- Meet with people managers to interrogate new requisitions and recommend suitable hiring approaches.
- Interview candidates and develop trusting relationships to create a robust talent pipeline for Cairn.
- Establish and maintain ongoing relationships with colleges to create pipelines for the Cairn graduate program.
- Create detailed job specifications that reflect the hiring manager’s job brief and needs.
- Identify and manage ongoing relationships with recruitment providers to ensure their service levels meet Cairn’s needs.
- Manage the Cairn employer brand by working closely with the marketing team to build a consistent talent story and message across Cairn’s communication platforms.
The candidate;
- At least 3 years business partnering experience with 5-6 years general HR experience.
- Degree in HR or other related subject, CIPD qualified desirable.
- Previous HR experience working in a fast-paced, multi-site environment would be advantageous.
- Full clean license with own transport with ability to work flexibly across multiple locations.
- Detailed understanding of all aspects of HR Operations including; ER, IR, HRIS, HR Data and metrics, reward & recognition, performance management and payroll.
- Experienced with recruitment & selection focusing on strategic workforce planning.
- Displays a high level of personal resilience and the ability to remain effective in a dynamic working environment.
- High energy individual who enjoys a challenge.
- Enthusiastic and ambitious with a strong work ethic and flexible work attitude.
- Proven ability to engage and influence across diverse groups and levels.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Team player with ability to contribute both individually and as part of a team.
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
