General Practice Nurse - Blackrock, Dublin
Description
General Practice Nurse with an interest in Dermatology
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a General Practice Nurse with an interest in Dermatology to join our growing team at Blackrock Medical.
The role is a blended position combining both General Practice Nursing and Dermatology Nursing, offering the successful candidate the opportunity to develop specialist skills while continuing to work within a busy and varied GP setting.
Initially, the successful candidate will spend the majority of their time providing traditional General Practice nursing services, including health promotion, chronic disease management, screening, vaccinations, wound care, and patient education. Depending on experience and training requirements, this is likely to involve 2-4 days per week within General Practice, while gradually developing their dermatology knowledge and clinical skills through training and hands-on experience.
Alongside their General Practice responsibilities, the nurse will work closely with a GP who leads a dedicated dermatology clinic, supporting the assessment, treatment, and ongoing care of patients with a wide range of skin conditions and dermatological concerns. As confidence, skills, and service demands develop, the successful candidate will become increasingly involved in the dermatology aspect of the role.
Over time, we anticipate the position evolving into a more balanced blend of General Practice and Dermatology nursing, with the potential for the role to be approximately shared across both areas. However, this will not be fixed, and the successful candidate should be comfortable working flexibly across both services depending on patient needs, clinic requirements, and business demands.
The role will also provide exposure to aesthetic procedures and treatments, making it an excellent opportunity for a nurse seeking to broaden their expertise in skin health, dermatology, and aesthetics within a supportive and progressive healthcare environment.
We are seeking a nurse who is adaptable, eager to learn, and enthusiastic about developing specialist skills while maintaining a strong commitment to delivering exceptional patient-centred care. The successful candidate will be a collaborative team player with excellent communication skills and the flexibility to work across both General Practice and Dermatology settings as required.
