
Clinical Nurse Education Facilitator – St Peters Ward

Purpose of the Role
The successful candidate will be assigned to manage the clinical educational needs within the department to:
- Lead co-ordinate and facilitate the creation of a clinical environment that fosters professional growth and development of staff and student nurses.
- Facilitate the development of nursing staff, by means of orientation of new staff and in-service training.
- Facilitate the supervision of student nurses and staff nurses in collaboration with CNM II’s & CNM III.
- Assist staff members in ensuring that individual staff and student nurses are kept informed of their progress and encourage feedback, recognise strengths and weaknesses and the potential need for further clinical training and experience.
- Promote high quality standards of care through demonstration of clinical expertise.
- Ensure confidentiality on all matters and information obtained during the course of employment.
- Facilitate the development of documentation, standards and guidelines best practice in order to optimise use of resources and to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
Essential Criteria:
· RCN with 5 years post registration experience or RGN with 5 years paediatric’s experience.
· Experience in the supervision of staff and students;
· Experience and knowledge of the recognition and management of the acutely ill child, including but not limited to pre and post-operative care.
