About the Team & Business Line:

Citco IT are currently looking to fill a technical specialist position to assist with development and maintenance of strategic financial systems. The individual in this position will participate in the development and support of multiple client-facing and internal business systems.

This position reports to the local Team IT Manager. Citco IT is a global team of IT professionals that are responsible for the development and support of IT applications. The candidate will interact closely with multiple IT teams and business analysts, as well as QA teams and other technical groups and resources within Citco.

Your Role:

• Develop and maintain applications using Progress OpenEdge
• Design, develop, test and deliver solutions as per business requirements
• Provide support for existing systems
• Lead initiatives around app modernization, digital transformation and automation 
• Develop and maintain web applications using modern Javascript frameworks and libraries (React, Next.js)

About You:

• 10+ years of IT experience in design and development of enterprise applications, databases and web applications across Linux and Windows 

• 5+ years of Programming experience in Progress OpenEdge 

  • Version 11+
  • GUI and Webspeed interfaces
  • Classic or PAS Appserver

• Knowledge of Progress DBA and App/environment administration

  • OE Database Admin Skills (Probkup, prorest, after-imaging, proutil etc)
  • OE Replication plus
  • OE Management (Fathom)
  • Transparent Data Encryption
  • Database performance tuning

• Experience in JavaScript/React development

• Experience in REST APIs and web services

• Experience in deployment tools (Jenkins, Octopus or similar)

• Desirable experience with AWS, Python, and test automation

• AI solutions architecture, prompt engineering

• Source control procedures and systems (Git)

• Understanding of the importance and adherence to coding standards and consistency

• Good knowledge in performance tuning of database queries to improve their performance

• Experience in debugging functional and technical issues in a fast-paced environment

• Aptitude to identify where improvements can be made around business and technical flows, refine your suggestions and implement them

• Ability to lead projects on your own initiative, e.g Progress upgrades, deployments etc

• Familiarity of Agile development methodologies (SCRUM, KANBAN)

• Understanding of technical, functional and non-functional requirements documentation

• Possess excellent documentation and communication skills and must be able to present design, diagnostic, troubleshooting steps and conclusions to a varied audience

• Willing to do application support, development and maintenance depending on needs

• Able to perform DBA and other admin activities

• Ability to work in a demanding, fast paced environment with a positive attitude
