Senior MEICA Estimator/Engineer
Coffey is seeking a Senior MEICA Estimator/Engineer to lead the MEICA estimating and tender-stage design coordination for major water and wastewater infrastructure projects. This is an opportunity to play a key role in developing competitive, technically robust tenders while working closely with civil, design and proposals teams.

The Senior MEICA Estimator/Engineer can be based in Athenry, Rathcormac or Maynooth, with hybrid working available: 3 days in the office and 2 days at home.
Key responsibilities
- Lead MEICA pricing for Design-Build water and wastewater projects, working closely with the civil estimating team.
- Coordinate MEICA tender-stage design development, including P&IDs, GA drawings, MEICA schedules and technical deliverables.
- Manage MEICA estimators and coordinate internal and external designers and specialists.
- Develop tender strategies, contribute to reviews and settlement, and support proposals through to submission.
- Assess tender risks and opportunities and incorporate findings into pricing.
- Manage supplier engagement and requests for quotation, identifying new suppliers, technologies and innovations.
- Support tender programmes, ensuring alignment between design, construction and commissioning.
- Coordinate successful tender handovers to project delivery teams.
- Support process improvements, team initiatives and mentoring of junior personnel.
- Work in accordance with Coffey HSQE policies and procedures.
About You
About you
- Degree in Engineering, Construction or a relevant discipline.
- Significant construction industry experience, ideally including water/wastewater and MEICA.
- Strong understanding of construction and procurement processes.
- Experience in estimating, tendering or related commercial activities.
- Excellent technical writing, communication and attention to detail.
- Able to manage competing priorities and deliver within fixed deadlines.
- Collaborative approach with the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.
- Self-motivated, proactive and committed to continuous learning and improvement.
- Experience with planning or estimating software is beneficial.
- Full driving licence where required for the role.
- Eligible to work in Ireland.
