Remuneration
The Salary Scale for this post as at 01/02/2026 is as follows:
€62,078, €63,106, €63,975, €65,394, €66,963, €68,504, €70,045, €71,779, €73,389, €76,159, €78,443 LSI
New appointees to any grade start at the minimum point of the scale. Incremental credit will be applied for recognised relevant service in Ireland and abroad (Department of Health Circular 2/2011). Incremental credit is normally granted on appointment, in respect of previous experience in the Civil Service, Local Authorities, Health Service and other Public Service Bodies and Statutory Agencies.

Details of Service
The above Community Nursing Units provide long term residential care along with day care to Older People across south Connemara.
Aras Mhic Dara CNU, provides long term, and a day care service. The unit is located 30km’s from Galway city in the Gaeltacht town of Carraroe.
The team continuously endeavours to ensure that the care delivered is safe and of high quality and is in line with best practice and HIQA standards. We are committed to providing progressive high standards of nursing care to clients with a wide range of simple to complex palliative, acute or long term care needs.
Irish language comprehension is a necessity for the post holder.
Reporting Relationship
Accountable to the Assistant Director of Nursing and Director of Nursing.
Key working relationships
The post holder will report to the Director of Nursing or person deputising in his/her absence.
