Location:
Rea Services is based in the Loughrea / Craughwell / Bullaun area of Co. Galway. We provide day and residential services and individualised services to adults with high support needs, based on personal outcome measures. Our focus is to form a relationship / partnership with each individual and their family to support people to be valued citizens in their local community and to have ordinary life experiences. We wish to create opportunities for people who use our service to have valued social roles in their communities and to have the chance to form real friendships.
The Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Nurse Manager 1, who will play a pivotal role in managing the health and social care needs of people supported across REA Services. The successful applicant will be a valued member of both the Multi-Disciplinary Team and the Management Team, supporting the health and wellbeing of residents within community-based services.
The role will ensure that all clinical practice is delivered in line with NMBI requirements, as well as Corlann Care policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines.
The successful candidate must provide leadership and vision in the development of the service in line with guidelines from New Directions, HIQA Standards and Regulation, Council on Quality and Leadership and through Personal Outcomes Measures. In addition, a strategic part of this role is responding to new and enhanced needs and planning for future service developments as well as managing the existing services.

Area Manager / Service Coordinator
Qualifications:
Candidates should have a relevant third level qualification in nursing i.e. RNID/RGN/RMHN and have NMBI Registration. A QQI management qualification is also highly desirable. If the successful candidate does not hold a phlebotomy certification, a commitment must be made to obtain this within a set timeframe.
Experience:
Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years post qualification experience gained in services for people with intellectual disabilities. Experience of working with patients with high medical needs or chronic illness is an advantage. Experience of working with individuals who have a diagnosis of Autism, those with a Mental Health diagnosis and who may exhibit behaviours of concern is an essential requirement of the job.
Skills:
Candidates should be able to demonstrate leadership, communication and team working skills and be a flexible and dynamic individual who will relate to people in a range of situations with an understanding of and commitment to the principles of public accountability as they apply in the health service.
The service has established local connections and is working on future projects with community based groups and this work will continue as the service develops. The successful candidate will also have to have skills in this area.
Candidates must have a full clean manual Irish driving licence.
Fluency in verbal and written English is an essential requirement of this post.
Working Hours:
39 hours per week based on a 7 day duty roster with day, night and weekend cover required for this post. An on-call commitment to be the Senior Person for Rea Services at evenings and weekends is an essential requirement of this post. Annual Leave:
Leave will be granted according to the agreed leave assigned to the grade of the successful Candidate i.e. CNM1
Remuneration:
Based on the salary scale attached to the grade of the successful candidate i.e. CNM1
Tenure:
This post is permanent, full-time and pensionable.
Probation:
A probationary period of nine months from the date of appointment applies to the post. The employment may be terminated at any time during the probationary period should the employer find that the appointee is unsuitable to continue employment. The probation period may be extended at the Employer’s discretion.
