A panel may be formed as a result of this process from which subsequent Senior Physiotherapist appointments within the Physiotherapy Services Corlann West Region may be made over the next 6 months.
The Role:
There is currently
• One post based in County Galway delivering services to a caseload in Galway city and Galway West sector.
• One post based in counties Roscommon & Galway delivering services to caseloads in South Roscommon and north east Galway.
The successful candidate will provide multidisciplinary services to adults with an intellectual disability. The successful candidate will be required to work within a dynamic team environment using a person-centered philosophy.

Physiotherapy Manager
Qualifications and Experience:
The successful candidate must
(i) Be registered, or be eligible for registration, on the Physiotherapists Register maintained by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU.
AND
(ii) Have three years full time (or an aggregrate of three years full time) post qualification clinical experience.
AND
(iii) Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
AND
(iv) Provide proof of Statutory Registration on the Physiotherapists Register maintained by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU before a contract of employment can be issued.
Skills:
Candidates must
• demonstrate depth and breadth of experience in physiotherapy within the service area of adults and intellectual disability.
• demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• work effectively within a dynamic team environment using a person centered philosophy.
• work within their professional code of ethics at all times.
• demonstrate evidence of continuous professional development (CPD) in this clinical area.

The Health Service is undergoing ongoing transformation and therefore it is critical that a flexible attitude to changing environments and work requirements is held by the successful candidate.
A full clean driving licence and use of a car is an essential requirement of the post.
Working Hours:
Each role is full time - 70 hours per fortnight (35 hours per week)
Contracted hours of work are liable to change from 8am to 8pm to meet the requirements of the programme. Future developments within the services may require that you are prepared to transfer to other work locations as the service needs demand.
Corlann model of service is based on Personal Outcome Measures quality and person centred planning system requiring employees to be flexible in their working hours to provide a quality service delivery for each person supported
Annual Leave:
29 days per annum
Remuneration:
Department of Health Physiotherapist, Senior Salary scale (01/06/2026) is € 65,197 x 8 increments - € 76,767 gross basic per annum
Tenure:
The posts are permanent full-time and pensionable.
Probation:
A probationary period of nine months from the date of appointment applies to the post. The employment may be terminated at any time during the probationary period should the employer find that the appointee is unsuitable to continue employment. The probation period may be extended at the Employer’s discretion.
Travel:
The person appointed must provide his/her own car and must furnish an indemnity from Insurers in favour of the employer. Travelling expenses at the appropriate rate will be paid in respect of travel necessarily performed in the discharge of duty. The base for this purpose will be determined at offer stage.
The Health Services are undergoing ongoing changes and due to re-alignment of services, a change in base could occur in the future
