Role Profile
The Careers Service is currently seeking a proactive, student-centred professional to join the team in a role central to enhancing student employability and graduate outcomes. The successful individual will deliver a range of career and employability initiatives to students at all stages in their university experience, enabling effective career planning and progression. They will report to the Head of the Careers Service.
This position requires an individual who can successfully manage a range of portfolios including delivery of careers education and employability initiatives, mentoring programmes, careers guidance provision, digital engagement and resource development.
Working in partnership with the Alumni Office, you will be the primary lead for the student-side of our mentoring programme. Equally central to the role is the design and delivery of core employability initiatives. You will be a key driver of careers education, designing and delivering innovative, evidence-based workshops on topics such as AI in job search, networking, and recruitment trends. You will deliver sessions and will audit and evolve our skills sessions to ensure they remain responsive to industry shifts and student needs. You will also provide professional one-to-one career guidance, helping a diverse student population navigate their career paths with confidence.
The ideal individual will be a collaborative professional with a passion for student success, bringing a blend of career guidance, forward-thinking careers education, stakeholder management, and operational excellence. We are looking for an individual who is a skilled communicator and presenter, and who is also highly comfortable with IT platforms and digital tools.
You will join a Careers Service team committed to bridging the gap between education and employment, ensuring students have the tools, skills and connections to thrive in the modern labour market. The Careers Service is based within Student Support and Development; together, we provide personal, academic skills, and professional development for all registered students of the University. The role is multi-campus based.

Salary Scale:
Professional 5A - €59,980 - €81,111

Appointment will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and in line with current Government pay policy.
