Key skills and prior experience that align well with this position
Proven VAT experience, ideally gained within professional services, with a strong understanding of indirect tax complexities.
ACA, CTA qualification or equivalent professional accreditation demonstrating technical expertise and commitment to professional standards.
Strong business acumen and commercial awareness to provide practical, value-driven advice to clients.
Excellent client-facing skills, including relationship building, business development, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders confidently.
Analytical mindset with the ability to research, identify, and prioritise tax issues effectively.
Success in the Role
Establish and deepen trusted relationships with key clients, delivering insightful VAT reviews and tailored tax opinions.
Lead and contribute to the development and execution of the team’s strategy, supporting growth and innovation.
Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a high-performance culture and enabling their professional growth.
Collaborate with the Transfer Pricing and Management Consulting (TMC) practice to support clients in managing their global VAT footprints effectively.

Leading client engagements and VAT advisory projects
Conducting detailed research and analysis of complex indirect tax issues
Developing and implementing team strategies and initiatives, including leadership and mentoring responsibilities
Collaborating with internal teams and global networks to deliver integrated solutions
