As a Strategy and Business Design Director focused on Financial Services, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering transformative strategies for leading organisations. You will work directly with C-suite stakeholders to define strategic direction, design operating models, and lead business transformation initiatives. What are the main activities and tasks involved?

  • Lead multi-disciplinary teams to deliver strategic projects and business transformation for financial services clients
  • Collaborate with Deloitte’s Irish and global teams to develop and promote Strategy and Business Design offerings tailored to the Irish market and beyond
  • Leverage your professional network to drive market impact and stay abreast of leading industry practices within the C-level ecosystem
  • Build, develop, and lead a high-performing team aligned with the Strategy and Business Design portfolio
  • Engage with high-profile clients across key industries including Consumer & Industrial Products, Life Sciences, and Technology, Media & Telecoms
  • Identify and convert business leads into on-sell and cross-sell opportunities, lead bid teams, and write compelling proposals
  • Manage project delivery with a focus on deployment strategies, risk mitigation, and maximising time to value
  • Drive organisational and people change management, stakeholder engagement, and data-driven decision making

Skills and qualifications required

  • Extensive leadership experience, ideally combining consulting and industry roles with a focus on strategic impact
  • Proven ability to build and influence senior-level relationships with clients and internal leadership teams locally and globally
  • Strong strategic acumen paired with a commercial and entrepreneurial mindset to grow the business line
  • Demonstrated success in business development, including lead identification, proposal writing, and bid leadership
  • Expertise in project delivery, including managing pace, risk, and value realisation
  • Deep understanding of organisational change management, stakeholder management, and data utilisation
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with experience engaging in public forums, large audiences, and networking events
  • Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to articulate factors influencing client and industry decisions

You will report to the Partner or Head of Strategy and Business Design, a visionary leader with extensive experience in financial services strategy and transformation. Their leadership style is inclusive and empowering, encouraging innovation, collaboration, and professional growth. They prioritise client impact, integrity, and fostering a culture of high performance and continuous learning.

Where will I be working and what is the working model?

This role is based in our Dublin office, with a flexible hybrid working model that balances office presence with remote working to support your productivity and wellbeing.
