Why This Role:

eir business is seeking a Cloud Practice Lead to take technical ownership of eirbusiness cloud platform and support its growth as a strategic private & hybrid cloud offering. The role will sit across technical presales, solution architecture, platform strategy and technical marketing.


The Cloud Practice Lead will act as the platform’s subject matter expert, working closelywith customers, sales, engineering and delivery teams to define solutions, develop technical propositions, support opportunities and drive adoption of the platform.


This is a customer-facing role requiring strong technical credibility combined with excellent communication, presentation and commercial skills. The successful candidate will be comfortable leading technical discussions with both infrastructure teams and senior customer stakeholders.

This is a hybrid role, based in HSQ Dublin.

Expectations From The Role:

  • Act as the technical SME and primary technical point of contact for eir business cloud

  • Lead technical discovery, solution design and presales engagements with customers. 

  • Develop reference architectures, technical proposals, statements of work and responses to RFPs/RFIs. 

  • Deliver customer-facing technical presentations, workshops, demonstrations and proof-of-concepts. Work with sales and account teams to identify and develop opportunities for eir business cloud

  • Develop technical propositions, collateral, solution briefs and presentations to support the platform's go-to-market strategy. 

  • Maintain a strong understanding of competing private cloud platforms/solutions and define technical differentiators for eir business cloud 

  • Work with engineering and delivery teams to ensure solutions are technically viable, repeatable and aligned with platform standards.

  • Capture customer and market requirements and feed these into the platform roadmap and Cloud Practice strategy. 

  • Develop technical enablement and training material for sales, presales and delivery teams.

  • Build and maintain relationships with key technology vendors and strategic partners.

Requirements For A Successful Application:

  • Proven experience in infrastructure, private and public cloud platforms, virtualisation and solution architecture.

  • Strong understanding of enterprise datacentre and private cloud technologies, including virtualisation, networking, storage and automation.

  • Proven experience in a technical presales, consulting or customer-facing solution architecture role.

  • Experience designing and presenting complex infrastructure solutions to technical and senior customer stakeholders

  • Strong understanding of Nutanix, KVM, VMware, OpenShift, Proxmox or similar enterprise infrastructure and private cloud technologies.

  • Strong understanding of Veeam, Rubrik, Commvault, Acronis or similar enterprise infrastructure and private cloud technologies.

  • (desirable but optional) Strong understanding of automation, platform engineering, Kubernetes/microservices and enterprise networking.

  • Experience producing technical proposals, solution architectures and customer-facing technical documentation.

  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to translate technical capabilities into customer value and business outcomes.

  • Excellent presentation, interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence internal stakeholders and external customers at all levels.

  • Experience developing technical marketing content, demonstrations, workshops or go-to-market propositions is highly desirable.

  • Ability to work effectively across sales, engineering, delivery, product and practice teams.

  • Highly motivated, organised and comfortable managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
