About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Junior Process Scientist / Engineer to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional looking to develop a rewarding career within the wastewater industry.
The successful candidate will travel daily to wastewater treatment plants throughout the Munster region, collecting operational and asset information, assessing existing equipment and identifying opportunities for process and equipment improvements. Full training will be provided in wastewater treatment processes, technologies, and asset assessment methodologies.
This role offers significant career progression opportunities into Project Management, Supervisory, and Management positions as experience is gained.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel to wastewater treatment plants across the Munster region on a daily basis.
- Conduct site surveys and gather technical data relating to existing treatment processes and equipment.
- Assess the age, condition, performance, and suitability of installed equipment.
- Compile and analyse operational and asset information.
- Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements, energy savings, process optimisation, and equipment upgrades.
- Develop recommendations for replacement or refurbishment of aging or underperforming equipment.
- Liaise closely with site operators and maintenance personnel who possess detailed knowledge of plant operations and equipment performance.
- Meet with plant management teams to review findings and support data collection activities.
- Prepare technical reports, asset reviews, and improvement recommendations.
- Maintain accurate records of site visits, observations, and collected data.
- Work closely with senior engineers and project teams to support ongoing improvement projects.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental requirements during site visits.
Candidate Requirements
Essential
- Degree or diploma in Engineering, Environmental Science, Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with site staff and management.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Full clean driving licence.
- Willingness to travel extensively throughout the Munster region.
Desirable
- Knowledge of water, wastewater, environmental, or industrial processes.
- Experience conducting technical inspections, surveys, or data collection.
- Familiarity with pumps, motors, blowers, instrumentation, or treatment process equipment.
- Experience preparing technical reports or asset assessments.
