Location: Dublin
Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Focus Ireland manages a substantial and growing property portfolio, and we are seeking a qualified and experienced Painter and Decorator to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in painting and decorating, have completed the relevant training, and hold all necessary permits required to work in Ireland.
What you will do:
To work within the framework of the overall aims and objectives of Focus Ireland.
Form part of the general maintenance team
To comply with the maintaining and delivery of maintenance schedules.
Surface Preparation: Prepare surfaces for painting, which includes cleaning, sanding, and priming.
Application of Paints and Finishes: Utilise various techniques such as brushing and rolling to apply paints, varnishes, and other finishes.
Repair and Maintenance: Identify and rectify surface imperfections, cracks, and damage.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, environmental guidelines, and industry standards.
To be vigilant to any Health, Safety and Welfare risks in the workplace and bring any concerns to the attention of your line manager or Health & Safety Representative.
To draw up and oversee the implementation of painting and decorating maintenance schedules
To participate in relevant training and development courses as agreed with the Housing Manager and Property Facilities Supervisor
Attend and participate in weekly team meetings with the maintenance team, Housing Manager and Property Facilities Supervisor
To undertake other such duties as might be reasonably assigned from time to time in consultation with the Housing Manager and Property Facilities Supervisor
What you will need:
Education: Completion of a formal education programme in painting and decorating from a recognised college or vocational institution.
Extensive, provable Painting and Decorating experience of medium to large projects
Ability to work at height
Ability to work on own initiative both alone and as a member of a team
Full, clean driving license
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
Willing and able to travel to sites in the Leinster area
On-site safety awareness and a knowledge of relevant current legislation along with the Associations Health and Safety Policy
Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail is essential to ensure high-quality finishes.
Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with clients and team members regarding project requirements and progress.
Have access to own vehicle (Work vans are provided from site but from time to time you may be required to use your own vehicle)
Proven relevant experience of carrying out maintenance within the social housing or private residential sector (Desirable)
