Role Purpose
The Process Automation Lead is responsible for identifying, prioritising and delivering digital transformation initiatives across our group of companies. The role focuses on improving process efficiency, reducing operational costs and removing manual, fragmented ways of working by implementing scalable, automated digital processes and services. Including leveraging cloud-based platforms, enterprise integrations and data driven decision making.
Working closely with GlenDimplex IT (GD IT), divisional stakeholders and external partners, the role ensures that transformation initiatives deliver measurable business benefits and are aligned to group strategy, governance and technology standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong blend of technical expertise, project management skills, and a strategic mindset to facilitate seamless digital transformations.
Key Responsibilities
Digital Transformation & Value Delivery
- Collaborate with divisions to understand their needs and implement digital solutions that align with their overall strategy. Including cloud services, enterprise workflow platforms and API based integrations.
- Identify opportunities across the group to simplify, standardise and digitise business processes through data driven insights, system capability assessments and automation feasibility analysis.
- Lead end‑to‑end delivery of digital transformation projects, from opportunity identification through implementation and benefits realisation using Agile and hybrid delivery methodologies.
- Replace manual, spreadsheet‑driven or email‑based processes with digital platforms, workflows and automated services utilising tools such as low code platforms, RPA (Robotic Process Automation) and integration middleware.
- Quantify and track benefits including cost savings, productivity gains, cycle time reduction and risk reduction supported by digital dashboards, KPIs and performance analytics.
Process Improvement & Automation
- Partner with business teams to analyse current‑state (“as‑is”) processes and design future‑state (“to‑be”) digital processes using process mapping tools (e.g., BPMN modelling, process mining, value stream mapping).
- Promote automation, low‑code/no‑code solutions, workflow tools and system integration where appropriate including API orchestration, data automation and RPA enabled task automation.
- Drive adoption of common group platforms and reduce duplication of tools and processes across companies by assessing system architecture, integration points and technical scalability.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a trusted partner to divisional leaders and functional teams, translating business problems into practical digital solutions using technical assessments, feasibility studies and solution prototypes.
- Facilitate workshops and discovery sessions to identify pain points and prioritise transformation initiatives using structured analysis methods and digital ideation tools.
- Communicate progress, risks and outcomes clearly to senior stakeholders using technical documentation, architecture diagrams and delivery dashboards where needed.
- Utilise data analytics tools to measure the effectiveness of digital initiatives and provide actionable insights including reporting using BI tools and automated data visualisation.
Governance & Delivery Management
- Lead and manage digital transformation projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget through structured delivery frameworks and digital PM tools.
- Ensure projects follow GD IT standards for architecture, security, data protection and supplier management including compliance with cloud security frameworks, data governance policies and architectural review processes.
- Manage delivery partners and vendors as required including technical solution providers, cloud service partners and integration specialists.
- Maintain clear business cases, delivery plans, and post‑implementation reviews supported by measurable data, technical documentation and operational metrics.
- Support change management and user adoption to ensure solutions deliver sustained value supported by system usage data and user surveys.
Key Skills & Experience
Essential
- Experience leading digital transformation, process improvement or automation initiatives in a multi‑business or group environment including delivery of digital platforms and integrated solutions.
- Strong understanding of business process reengineering and operational efficiency supported by experience with process modelling, workflow optimisation and automation techniques.
- Proven ability to deliver measurable cost savings and productivity improvements through digital solutions, automation, cloud adoption or platform consolidation.
- Experience implementing digital workflows, automation, or enterprise platforms (e.g. ERP, CRM, workflow or low‑code platforms) including systems integration, data flows and user interface design.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to work across technical and non‑technical teams and translate between business needs, technical requirements and solution design.
Desirable
- Experience in Group IT or shared services environments including understanding of enterprise architecture and cross company integration.
- Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma or continuous improvement methodologies supported by digital process analysis tools.
- Experience with low‑code platforms, automation tools or enterprise integration such as RPA, workflow engines, APIs, middleware or cloud-based automation.
- Understanding of change management and user adoption practices including digital onboarding and user experience design.
- Business case development and benefits tracking experience including use of analytics and ROI measurement tools.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 8+ years of experience in digital transformation, IT project management, or a related role.
- Relevant certifications (e.g. Lean Six Sigma, PMP, Agile, Scrum Master) are a plus alongside technical certifications in cloud platforms, automation tools or enterprise systems.
