About the job
As a Manager on the Youth Age Appropriateness team within YouTube Trust and Safety, you will lead a team responsible for ensuring that our content is appropriately rated, providing better experiences for users of all ages and ensuring YouTube remains an safe platform for all. You will oversee multiple workflows that have impact on apps like YouTube Kids and you will work alongside product and engineering stakeholders to implement effective and rating mechanisms and systematically optimize internal processes to balance user safety while protecting creator voices.
Please note: You will review graphic, controversial, and sometimes offensive video content in line with YouTube’s Community Guidelines. You will require on-call work on weekends and on holidays on a rotational basis.

Responsibilities
- Build, lead, and grow a global team of experts, provide coaching and mentorship to maximize execution potential. Foster a psychological safety where we obsess over impact and take smart risks.
- Define the long-term operational strategy.
- Lead the transition to AI-integrated workflows to improve quality, speed and cost, while ensuring all operational service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
- Cultivate strong working relationships with executive stakeholders across product, engineering, policy, legal, and public relations.
- Partner with global operations lead to determining direction, allocate resources, and improve the quality and cost of enforcement. Manage high-priority escalations and support non-standard operational hours (e.g., including weekend and holiday on-calls) as business demands require.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience in data analytics, trust and safety, policy, business strategy, or related fields.
- 1 year of experience in people management, leading a team.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in a relevant field.
- 5 years of experience in people management.
- Experience working with engineering and product teams to create tools, solutions, or automation to improve user safety.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence cross-functionally at various levels.
