As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.
As a Technical Program Manager on the Finance DnA team, you will play a pivotal role in guiding high-impact AI and data projects from conception through to launch and landing. You will be the crucial link between finance business stakeholders and various engineering teams (including Data and Analytics (DnA), Financial Engineering (FinEng), Cloud, and others). Your strong technical expertise and program management skills will be essential to ensure we design, build, and deliver innovative solutions that provide significant business value, are widely adopted, and can scale. You will be responsible for the how and when of project delivery, ensuring technical feasibility and orchestrating cross-functional execution.
Responsibilities
- Implement communications standards across a portfolio of programs including executive and key partner communications.
- Lead a governance structure that drives effective executive decision-making. Ensure governance structure effectively exposes and mitigates dependencies.
- Seek out and identify change management opportunities that increase program velocity and which affect multiple teams.
- Define/manage a program portfolio solving problems that goal high business impact for the organization and product area.
- Partner with finance stakeholders, including
Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and process owners, to deeply understand business challenges, processes, and opportunities for AI and data-driven solutions.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in program management.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, and business stakeholders.
- Experience working with AI and partnering with engineering teams.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field.
- 8 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
- Track record of managing and delivering complex AI/ML or large-scale data projects.
- Understanding of data architecture, data warehousing, data governance, and Business Intelligence principles.
