With technical and leadership expertise, you manage engineers across multiple teams and locations, a large product budget and oversee the deployment of large-scale projects across multiple sites internationally.

The Rollouts team, part of the P2020 organization and Google Production Platform (GPP), provides Google's canonical Continuous Delivery (CD) solution. We enable teams to deploy binaries, configurations, footprint changes, Spanner schema updates, and more to production with ease, safety, speed, scalability, and reliability, all while adhering to production best practice.

As a Software Engineering Manager for Rollouts, you will lead complex projects, mentor engineers, and influence the overall technical direction of the Rollouts platform.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of 8-10 engineers.
• Ensure product delivery, fostering career growth, and maintaining team health.
• Be responsible for the development and delivery of a wide set of features requested by customers.
• Collaborate with peers in ZRH and CAM on the tactical and strategic direction of the Rollouts product.
• Engage with customers to help them adopt our products as they become the de-facto standard for Google production management.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects, with 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.
