Technical Program Manager, Google Enterprise Networks

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects through their full life cycles, from initiation, design, and build to deployment and closure, across different data center environments.
• Manage external vendors in support of deployment activities by providing a framework for vendor teams to be successful in managing the volume of deployments in your region.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to plan and deliver the physical infrastructure for growing data centers.
• Identify when additional tools and process improvements are needed and raise their visibility at the regional and global levels.
• Ensure project management best practices are followed, including regular project updates, Risk and Mitigation (R&M) strategies, and timely escalation. Ensure the quality of deployment activities and define metrics to measure them.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  
• 5 years of experience in program or project management.
• Experience delivering network technologies in enterprise offices, data centers, or Internet Service Provider (ISP)/Telecommunications (Telco) programs.

Preferred qualifications:

• Certification in Project Management Professional (PMP), Agile project management, or similar.
• Experience using various program/project management tools and systems.
  
• Understanding of technical subjects and emerging technologies, and success in leading programs at a global level.
  
• Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
