The Role
We’re hiring a Founding Visual & Motion Designer to own and define how Grand looks, moves, and feels in the world.
This is a high-impact individual contributor role focused on visual design, motion, film, and brand expression. You’ll be responsible for everything from brand videos and motion systems to social content, launch assets, and product storytelling.
You’ll work closely with the founders, builders and other creatives across Grand to make the brand unmistakable, emotionally resonant, and consistently excellent across every surface.
We’re looking for someone who obsesses over quality and is ready to roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty from day one. This is a seat at the founders’ table, shaping the brand into a household name from the ground up.
What You’ll Do
Own Grand’s visual and motion identity across brand, marketing, and product storytelling
Design and produce brand films, motion graphics, social content, and launch materials
Define and evolve our motion language — how the brand moves, transitions, and communicates
Work hands-on across motion, animation, video, and visual design
Use AI as a default creative accelerator for ideation, iteration, and production
Collaborate closely with the entire team to tell the product story through motion and visual storytelling
Raise the quality of everything we put into the world through relentless execution
Build visual systems that scale across channels (web, social, video, product moments)
Rapidly concept, prototype, and ship creative ideas — from scrappy experiments to polished deliverables
Balance speed and taste — moving fast without lowering the bar
Must Have
Proven experience delivering high-quality visual, motion, or brand work that has shipped into the real world. We care far more about what you’ve made than how long you’ve been doing it
Strong motion and animation skills (non-negotiable)
A portfolio showing brand expression, motion, video, and storytelling
Exceptional visual taste and attention to detail
Comfortable working as a strong IC in a fast-moving environment
Able to move from idea → execution without hand-holding
Confident collaborating with founders, engineers, and marketers
AI-first mindset, using modern tools to accelerate creative output
Bias toward shipping real work, not polishing decks or process
You care deeply about quality, but are pragmatic enough to know when it’s time to ship
Nice to Have
Film, editing, or cinematography experience
Light frontend coding or implementation awareness
Experience helping build a brand from zero → one
Experience working on fintech, B2B
