Director - Audit and Assurance

We are looking for a highly motivated Director to join our Corporate Audit team. This senior leadership role offers a direct reporting role to Partners, the chance to lead major client engagements, and a platform to shape the future of our growing practice.

Main responsibilities:

•    Promotion and oversight of quality audit work on all client engagements
•    Taking full responsibility for managing and reviewing the work of the audit team
•    Supervising and training all members of the team to ensure that Grant Thornton’s standards are maintained throughout the entire      audit process
•    Management of client relationships
•    Project management - take responsibility for managing a large and varied portfolio of clients
•    Working capital management – manage work in progress and billings
•    Client fee negotiation
•    Preparation and presentation of business tenders in order to develop and grow your client portfolio

Skills and attributes:

•    ACA/ACCA qualified
•    Proven experience in practice with a track record of high-quality files
•    Strong attention to detail and analytical assessment
•    Strong technical skills in both auditing standards and financial reporting (IFRS, Irish and UK GAAP)
•    Ability to motivate and manage staff under tight deadlines
•    Ability to make professional judgments based on findings
•    Portfolio management experience
•    Experience working as part of a team supporting others
•    Commercial awareness
•    Experience gained in a Big 4 accounting firm would be advantageous
