Job Summary:
Griffith College, Ireland’s largest private third-level college, in conjunction with the Irish College of Humanities & Applied Sciences (ICHAS), Ireland’s leading private third-level college in Counselling, Psychotherapy, Psychology and Humanities disciplines, seeks to recruit an experienced Marketing and Student Recruitment Officer for Griffith College’s Limerick campus. The successful applicant will be expected to have a proven track record in delivering targeted recruitment and marketing campaigns, exceeding performance targets and building cross-departmental relationships with multiple stakeholders.
This is a key role with responsibility for identifying opportunities, maximising new student recruitment and delivering key targets for the College. The Marketing and Student Recruitment Officer role combines outreach, relationship-building, marketing support, and applicant guidance to attract and convert prospective students into enrolled learners. The post-holder will act as a key representative of programmes based at Griffith College Limerick’s campus with a focus on national student recruitment.
The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for student recruitment, encompassing the promotion of programmes and the recruitment of students for all programmes based at or offered through Griffith College’s Limerick campus.
The Marketing and Student Recruitment Officer will be a proven self-starter, high performer, sales and results-focused, and strongly motivated. The successful candidate will contribute to the overall student recruitment and marketing goals of Griffith College and ICHAS by developing and executing a detailed student recruitment and marketing strategy for the Limerick campus, aimed at increasing awareness of course programmes through online and offline channels.
The role requires strong interpersonal and communication skills in applicant engagement, marketing, administration, and management - all driven by a student recruitment focus. This position involves processing student applications across the student recruitment process – from enquiries to commencement of studies.
Flexibility is expected regarding meeting deadlines and participating in events throughout the year.
Job Responsibilities:
The successful applicant will be expected to:
- Agree recruitment targets with relevant key stakeholders and recommend clear actions to grow student numbers for Griffith College and ICHAS programmes.
- Design plan, coordinate and deliver a programme of national recruitment activities for both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes offered from or through the Limerick campus. These might include (but are not limited to) school visits, attendance at career fairs, open days, information sessions, regional and national recruitment events, higher education exhibitions, and networking activities.
- Actively market Griffith College Limerick apprenticeship programmes in collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Develop, build and maintain strong relationships with guidance counsellors, principals, feeder schools, Further Education colleges, and other stakeholders, including industry and professional links by direct engagement with relevant sectors.
- Engage with the broader Marketing & Admissions teams associated with the College to support the design and distribution of promotional materials (online and offline).
- Coordinate, develop and/or provide engaging presentations on programmes offered from the Griffith College Limerick campus and student opportunities, tailored to different audiences.
- Coordinate digital recruitment activities, including webinars, social media campaigns, and email outreach.
- Monitor and report on market trends and learner demand as well as competitor activity to inform recruitment strategies.
- Track and report on recruitment activity, conversion rates, and student enrolment numbers against agreed targets.
- Support the admissions processes by guiding applicants through the enquiry, application, and offer stages.
- Provide accurate programme and entry requirement information, ensuring compliance with QQI standards.
- Develop and implement advertising campaigns to promote Griffith College Limerick and ICHAS as a student destination. Track return on investment.
- Update and ensure the accuracy and relevance of the Griffith College Limerick and ICHAS website pages.
- Generate content for social media and CRM campaigns. Measure engagement by tracking results and ensuring accurate reporting.
- Manage physical marketing material, including brochures, flyers and other branded merchandise.
- Develop and grow local and national media coverage for Griffith College Limerick and ICHAS.
- Coordinate and support on-campus and online events such as open evenings, taster sessions, and induction activities. Attend open days, graduations, student recruitment fairs, and related events linked to promoting Griffith College Limerick and ICHAS - all programmes delivered through the Limerick campus.
- Work flexibly to meet recruitment cycle needs, including evenings and occasional
- Support the Global Engagement Office with the recruitment of non-EU students already resident in Limerick through engagement with agents and English language schools.
- Manage student recruitment and marketing budgets to maximise student intake numbers.
- Monitor return on investment for all spending relating to marketing initiatives.
- Review and execute plans to maximise rental opportunities for rooms in the Limerick campus when they are not in use.
Any other reasonable duties assigned by your line manager that fall within the employee’s capabilities.
Key Working Relationships:
- Work with the Griffith College Limerick team, with key stakeholders at Griffith College, Limerick campus, ICHAS and Griffith College’s Group Head of Marketing.
- Work with the ICHAS Limerick team, reporting to TBC
- Relevant internal stakeholders (e.g. Programme Directors, Senior Administrative Staff and Managers) for all programmes offered from Griffith College Limerick, including all ICHAS programmes, to develop and implement student recruitment and marketing plans.
- Relevant industry and professional stakeholders, building links and relationships to optimise student recruitment to relevant programmes offered through the Griffith College Limerick Campus.
- Griffith College Limerick and ICHAS administration teams - to process student applications.
- Liaise with the marketing teams at Griffith College Dublin and Griffith College Cork to ensure consistency and complementarity, as appropriate, across campuses.
- Deliver results for internal stakeholders, including the Irish College of Humanities and Applied Sciences (ICHAS), Innopharma and Engineering Support & Services Ltd (ESS).
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- A third-level qualification (Level 7 or above) in business, marketing, communications, education, or a related field, but candidates with relevant industry experience may also be considered
- Must demonstrate a strong performance record with a high level of achievement and be target-driven.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with diverse audiences.
- Excellent communication competencies (both written and verbal) and presentation skills, with confidence in public speaking.
- Strong commercial understanding of financial data and metrics is essential.
- Experience of leading a team and measuring performance is desirable.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a relevant role.
- A track record of successful online and offline recruitment & marketing approaches is essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and previous experience using a CRM system are desirable.
- Proven organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Experience of designing promotional material.
- A full clean driving license is essential.
- Must be legally entitled to work full-time in Ireland for any employer.
