About the Role:

This internship offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in Building Information Modelling (BIM) within the context of High Voltage and Electrical Engineering projects. Working alongside experienced BIM and engineering professionals, you will support live projects across the EMEA region, contributing to the development, coordination, and delivery of high-quality BIM deliverables. The role is ideal for someone looking to build practical experience in electrical BIM modelling, model federation, and understanding client BIM requirements in line with industry standards and project-specific BIM Execution Plans (BEPs).

Key Responsibilities

  1. Assist in the development of electrical discipline BIM models under the guidance of senior BIM and engineering staff.
  2. Support the federation and coordination of multidisciplinary models, ensuring alignment between electrical, civil, structural, and architectural models.
  3. Assist in model checks to ensure compliance with client BIM requirements, project standards, and agreed Level of Information Need.
  4. Implementation of 6D/EPD/Embodied Carbon data into the BIM models
  5. Support the production of BIM deliverables, including models, drawings, and data outputs at various project stages.
  6. Maintain BIM-related records and assist with model updates in line with project progress.
  7. Work with project teams to understand how BIM supports design coordination and project delivery.
  8. Assist with quality reviews to ensure BIM outputs align with internal procedures, health & safety requirements, and industry best practice.

 

Key Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services, Construction Management, or a related discipline.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Proactive, motivated, and eager to learn in a technical and collaborative environment.
  • Has an interest in BIM, digital engineering, and electrical systems.
  • Basic knowledge of Autodesk Revit and/or AutoCAD is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary project team
