About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled BIM Modeller to join our growing BIM team and play a key role in delivering high‑voltage substation projects. In this role, you will be responsible for creating, developing, and maintaining accurate 3D models that reflect the design and construction requirements of electrical substations. A strong focus on ISO 19650 compliance is essential.

You will work closely with engineers and multidisciplinary teams to ensure models are coordinated, clash‑free, and aligned with project specifications. The successful candidate will contribute to the continuous improvement of BIM processes within the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

3D Model Creation

  • Develop and maintain detailed 3D BIM models for substation projects, incorporating civil, structural, and electrical components.
  • Ensure all models reflect the latest design inputs, project requirements, and industry standards.
  • Create and configure Revit families, templates, and project-specific content as required.

Model Updates

  • Incorporate design revisions, equipment updates, and technical changes throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain an up-to-date and well-structured model that supports efficient construction planning.

Clash Detection

  • Perform clash detection using BIM tools to identify conflicts between disciplines.
  • Collaborate with project engineers and design teams to resolve issues promptly and effectively.

Detailing & Documentation

  • Generate accurate construction drawings, including plans, sections, elevations, and details from the BIM model.
  • Ensure all model-derived documentation meets internal and project-specific standards.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with engineering and project teams to ensure models align with design intent and overall project objectives.
  • Coordinate and share models with other disciplines to ensure fully integrated project delivery.

Quality Control

  • Conduct routine checks on model accuracy, consistency, and compliance with project specifications.
  • Identify and correct modelling errors, inconsistencies, or deviations from standards.

Support & Communication

  • Contribute to the development and improvement of BIM standards, workflows, and procedures.
  • Attend coordination meetings and communicate model updates and issues effectively.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • BIM technology certification is a strong advantage.
  • Ideally 3+ years’ experience in BIM modelling, preferably within substation, utility, or industrial projects.
  • Proficiency with Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD essential.
  • Strong understanding of substation layout and modelling principles.
  • Ability to create detailed, disciplined, and well-organised BIM models.
  • Excellent attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem‑solving ability.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced, multidisciplinary team environment.
