About the Role:

We are seeking a motivated and commercially focused CSA Surveyor to join our Procurement team. This role will play a key part in managing procurement activities across the Civil, Structural, and Architectural (CSA) elements of our project’s pre-mobilisation throughout Ireland, the UK, and Europe.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of the commercial management/procurement of CSA packages after handover from the estimating team, including budget reviews, cost tracking, and reporting of projects pre-mobilisation.
  • Prepare detailed Bills of Quantities (BoQs) and ensure all quantities and scopes are fully aligned with design intent and procurement needs.
  • Develop and issue comprehensive Request for Quotation (RFQ) packages, ensuring all technical and commercial information is included.
  • Assess and compare subcontractor quotations to confirm complete scope coverage, value for money, and commercial compliance.
  • Maintain clear and accurate records for all CSA-related commercial activities, including tender evaluations, budgets, and cost updates.
  • Identify and report commercial risks and opportunities, supporting the wider project team in implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Negotiate effectively with subcontractors to achieve the best commercial outcomes.
  • Review subcontractor performance, certifying key controls within the business are maintained and effective in line with best practice.
  • Assist in providing constructive feedback to subcontractors.
  • Uphold and demonstrate H&MV’s core values in all professional dealings.
  • Implement and execute existing processes within the organisation.

Key Requirements:

  • Familiarity with Civil, Structural, or Architectural trades or engineering principles (preferred but not essential).
  • Third-level qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or Civil Engineering.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other cost reporting tools.
  • Understanding of CSA contract terms and project delivery processes.
  • Excellent organisational, record-keeping, and communication skills.
  • Experience in measurement and quantity take-offs using digital measurement software (CostX preferable).
  • Experience working within European markets.
  • Previous exposure to commercial or construction environments, either through project work or placements.
  • German language skills would be an advantage.
  • Site experience would be an advantage.
