About the Role:
As a Graduate Mechanical Engineer at H&MV, you will be an integral part of a team that focuses on the design, engineering, and construction of medium and high-voltage substations and switching stations. You will work alongside experienced engineers to gain hands-on experience in mechanical engineering, contributing to the success of large-scale electrical infrastructure projects. You will assist in the design, implementation, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems while gaining valuable exposure to multi-disciplinary engineering practices.
Support in Mechanical Design and Engineering:
- Assist in the design of mechanical systems, including ventilation systems, structural supports, cable tray systems, and cooling solutions for substations.
- Support senior engineers in producing detailed mechanical drawings, specifications, and reports for project proposals and construction.
- Participate in the selection and specification of mechanical components and material
Project Assistance and Coordination:
- Help with the coordination of mechanical tasks within the larger project scope, ensuring that design work is completed within timelines.
- Work with project managers and senior engineers to assist in the preparation of project schedules, reports, and documentation.
- Assist with site visits, gathering data, and providing on-site technical support for mechanical systems during construction and commissioning phases.
Learning and Development:
- Participate in training and mentoring programs to develop your technical skills and knowledge of the industry.
- Continuously improve your understanding of mechanical engineering principles, electrical substations, and switching stations.
Safety and Compliance:
- Learn and adhere to safety standards and industry regulations, ensuring mechanical systems are compliant with HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) protocols.
- Assist in ensuring that mechanical designs and systems comply with national and international standards.
Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting:
- Work with senior engineers to identify and resolve mechanical issues that arise during the design or construction phases.
- Assist with testing and commissioning of mechanical systems to ensure they meet operational requirements.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Support the preparation and maintenance of project documentation, including design calculations, technical reports, and compliance records.
- Participate in project meetings, providing updates and receiving feedback to improve your skills and knowledge.
Working Environment:
- This role offers a blend of office-based design work, on-site engineering support, and direct interaction with various engineering disciplines.
