About the Role:

We are seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Junior Buyer to support the Procurement function in delivering value, efficiency, and compliance across the business. This role involves managing day‑to‑day purchasing activities, supporting supplier management, coordinating with project teams, and ensuring accurate documentation. You will play a key role in maintaining strong supplier relationships, monitoring procurement schedules, and contributing to continuous process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day‑to‑day procurement needs of the business.
  • Purchase equipment, materials, and/or services for assigned projects or regions.
  • Manage the internal requisition system, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
  • Assist in the preparation, processing, and issuance of purchase orders in line with company policies.
  • Ensure project materials are sourced and purchased in accordance with procurement schedules and project budgets.
  • Create and monitor Procurement Schedules with Operations and Planning Teams.
  • Coordinate delivery of required materials with Project Teams, ensuring quality and timely arrival.
  • Track procurement milestones and align delivery timelines with project schedules.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on procurement status to internal stakeholders.
  • Source new suppliers and negotiate pricing to secure competitive value.
  • Communicate with suppliers to confirm order details, delivery dates, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Review supplier quotations to ensure best value, quality, and service.
  • Monitor and evaluate supplier performance and maintain accurate supplier records.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with key suppliers and project teams.
  • Review supplier documents and pricing submissions; support commercial evaluations.
  • Prepare commercial assessments identifying value engineering opportunities.
  • Provide assurance that internal financial controls are effective and risk‑minimising.
  • Support audit and compliance activities by ensuring procurement processes adhere to internal controls and policies.
  • Maintain organised procurement documentation including contracts, purchase orders, and correspondence.
  • Assist in preparing procurement reports, performance metrics, and management analyses.
  • Liaise with Accounts Payable monthly to resolve invoicing queries.
  • Provide recommendations for process improvements where appropriate.
  • Contribute to sustainability, efficiency, and workflow optimisation initiatives.
  • Assist with tender support activities when required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the line manager.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related field (preferred).
  • 1–2 years’ experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain (desirable but not essential).
  • Familiarity with procurement systems, ERP software, or Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Exceptional organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to build positive supplier relationships.
  • Strong analytical abilities to evaluate pricing, suppliers, and contract terms.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • A collaborative team player with a proactive, solutions‑focused approach.
