About the Role:

H&MV Engineering are seeking an experienced Learning & Development Specialist to design, deliver, and coordinate capability‑building programmes across the business. This role will own our Graduate Development Programme, lead PowersSkills (soft‑skills) learning, manage coordination across the L&D calendar, and support priority initiatives such as performance management, manager enablement, high‑performing teams, coaching, and LMS operations.

This position blends business partnering, programme design & facilitation, and hands‑on project coordination to ensure learning is timely, practical, and measurable.

Key Responsibilities:

Graduate Development

  • Design a structured graduate development journey (from induction to year two), integrating technical rotations, PowerSkills learning, and manager touchpoints.
  • Partner with functional teams to understand capability needs and support the overall graduate experience.
  • Plan and facilitate induction sessions and ongoing graduate development activities.
  • Track outcomes (attendance, application, feedback) and continuously improve programmes based on data and learner insights.

PowerSkills / Soft Skills Development

  • Create and deliver high‑impact workshops (e.g., communication, presenting, teamwork, feedback, career development).
  • Develop blended learning assets including toolkits, job aids, exercises, and microlearning that enable on‑the‑job application.
  • Maintain a rolling soft‑skills catalogue aligned to business needs and the broader L&D roadmap.

L&D Coordination and Operations

  • Support the Group L&D Senior Manager with strategic L&D programmes and priority projects.
  • Own end‑to‑end logistics for learning initiatives (scheduling, invitations, venue/virtual setup, vendors, materials, evaluations).
  • Maintain the master L&D calendar and support budget tracking, PO creation, and vendor management within your portfolio.

Performance Management & Manager Enablement

  • Partner with HRBPs and Group L&D Senior Manager to translate performance philosophy into practical tools and workshops (e.g., goal‑setting, feedback, effective 1:1s).
  • Develop simple, scalable toolkits aligned with company values and behavioural frameworks for managers and individual contributors.

Key Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in Learning & Development, with a strong track record designing and delivering soft‑skills workshops and blended learning solutions.
  • Proven ability to partner with business stakeholders to diagnose learning needs and define measurable outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience in end‑to‑end programme design and delivery (both virtual and in‑person).
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives.
  • Experience with LMS administration, learning analytics, and measuring programme effectiveness.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Business Partnering: Skilled at framing problems, analysing root causes, and defining success using data.
  • Programme Design: Applies adult-learning principles and builds practical, reusable learning resources.
  • Facilitation: Engaging facilitator comfortable with interactive methods (role plays, simulations, debriefs).
  • Project Management: Highly organised, clear communicator, and strong executor against deadlines.
  • Data‑Informed: Uses LMS and survey data to iterate content and demonstrate impact.
  • Collaboration: Works effectively with HR, TA, technical training, business leaders, and external vendors.
