Overview
ROLE PURPOSE:
Provides critical product development support to the delivery of the NPD / EPD program. Conducts practical & administrative tasks eg product prototyping, benchmarking, factory trials, specifications, etc involving cross functional interaction, with RDQ colleagues (product & pack) & on-site supply chain and quality teams.
BUSINESS IMPACT:
Accountable for safe, hygienic, efficient & high quality execution & documentation of a variety of essential product development tasks, including recipe development, product prototyping, factory trials & sensory evaluation, in line with Nomad procedures & defined ways of working. Quality & speed of delivery is critical to key decisions impacting design & time to market.
Responsibilities
Technical Project Delivery
- High quality product prototypes in line with brief
- Professionally planned & executed product trials
- Proactive product development – NPD, renovation & savings
- Technical project management of straightforward NPD & EPD projects (e.g. a new variant) in accordance with the agreed procedures to ensure successful and timely delivery of the projects
Product Benchmarking
- Constant awareness of competitor activity
- Regular review of competitor products
- Routes proposed for maintaining competitive advantage
Data analysis & reporting
- Accurate reporting of experimental & trial data
- Accurate documentation of competitor data
- Specifications correct & approved first time
- Ability to summarise & draw conclusions from technical data
Safe & Hygienic Working
- Well maintained team development infrastructure (equipment, ingredient stocks, reference samples etc.)
- A professional and hygienic food handling environment, including any role in H&S or GMP/GHP as requested

Qualifications
- Relevant Food Science / Technical / Culinary / Engineering qualification or proven experience of food development
- Driving licence
