Title: Corporate Acquisition Manager
Reports to: Head of Fundraising
Contract type: Permanent
Hours: Full-time (35 hours per week) Mon - Fri 9am to 5pm. Some evenings & Weekend work may be required.
Location: The Society operates a hybrid working model with a combination of remote and in-person (Dublin 4 office) working
Office Days: Office attendance days are Wednesday & Thursday

What you’ll do
Corporate Fundraising strategy & implementation
Develop a new Corporate Fundraising Strategy for the Irish Cancer Society, in conjunction with the Head of Fundraising and the Corporate team.
Lead on implementing this strategy, assessing and adjusting as necessary.
Increase and diversify the Society’s corporate income by securing new corporate donations and sponsorships, including charity of the year partnerships, and licensing/cause related marketing opportunities.
Develop fundraising and partnership opportunities for the ICS within the corporate sector through research, targeted appeals, relationship-building, individual approaches and presentations.
Ensure all possible corporate leads are assessed and actioned - to include proposal writing, pitching, presenting and negotiating as required.
Management & Planning
Prepare and manage budgets; establish targets and goals; and ensure they are in line with estimates and plans.
Work closely with the Corporate Partnerships Manager and the Corporate team.
Work with the Head of Fundraising and members of the Executive Leadership Team to develop relationships with major corporate supporters.
Work with other Fundraising managers identify new corporate opportunities, share plans and add value to each other’s areas.
Work with other relevant departments such as Communications, Advocacy, Services, Research, Education & Engagement to develop sponsorship opportunities and support campaigns as appropriate.
Prepare corporate fundraising agreements and contracts in consultation with the Head of Fundraising.
Keep up to date with the current issues and developments in the corporate sector and fundraising arena. Establish memberships and liaise with professional bodies, agencies and other associations as appropriate. Undertake training as required.
There are currently no positions reporting to this role; however more roles may be added in the future.
Key Relationships
General
Ensure the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date records on our CRM system. Ensure all contacts are entered and maintain accurate information on companies.
To comply with the Society’s policies and procedures, relevant professional codes of conduct and standards, regulation and legislation governing charities’ activities, including Data Protection and GDPR.
Understand risk assessment and work with the relevant teams to manage risks according to our processes.
Provide occasional support in the event that another team in the department has an urgent need, and assist with special projects as required.
Who you are
Self-starter with initiative and drive, an ability to work independently, to think strategically, and identify opportunities.
An excellent communicator with strong, professional presentation skills and written communication standards, including proposal writing, pitching, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Diplomatic and tactful, with the ability to quickly build rapport with stakeholders.
A team player willing to work collaboratively and flexibly to achieve common goals.
Strong empathy with the Irish Cancer Society’s clients, volunteers and supporters, and a passion for putting them first.
Your qualifications and experience
You will have 3-5 years’ experience in a relevant role e.g.: nonprofit corporate roles, CSR, B2B sales.
Proven track record in successful income generation from either the commercial (especially business to business sales) or nonprofit sectors (especially corporate fundraising).
Proven track record of identifying new business and working to a strategy.
Knowledge of the Republic of Ireland corporate sector, including corporate giving and community affairs strategies.
Solid MS Office suite experience. Experience with fundraising CRMs would be an advantage.
Experience managing or mentoring a team would be an advantage
