Location: The Society operates a hybrid working model with a combination of remote and in-person (Dublin 4 office) working
Office Days: Office attendance days are Wednesday & Thursday

The team:
The Finance Department provides a range of financial services in support of the Society’s primary mission. It is led by the Director of Finance and Corporate Services and the Head of Finance, and is supported by the Finance Manager, Financial Accountant, Payroll Officer, Accounts Assistant, Income Processing Coordinator and Income Processing Administrator.
The role:
The Finance Manager role will require a hands-on finance professional who can combine day-to-day operational leadership with a focus on improving processes, delivering system upgrades, and leading change projects.
What you’ll do:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
Team Management
Operational management and development of four direct reports: Financial Accountant, Accounts Assistant (responsible for Accounts Payable), Income Processing Coordinator, and Income Processing Administrator.
Effective management and coordination of the team’s workload, and delegation of tasks and duties as appropriate.
Set clear objectives and performance goals for the team, ensuring continuous development and high performance.
Provide support in relation to payroll as necessary.
Financial Processes and Management Reporting
Ensure finance processes are robust and in line with policies, e.g. re supplier payment runs, bank reconciliations, and online income platform reconciliations.
Assist the Head of Finance with monthly reporting packs; preparing analysis and providing insights into variances and trends where required.
Support the work of the Finance Committee as needed.
Process Development and Improvements
Lead and manage finance-led projects; focused on enhancing finance systems, processes, and reporting capabilities.
Lead on finance elements of organisational change projects, including implementation of new systems or process redesign to improve efficiency.
Collaborate with the Technology Team on finance-related technology initiatives, ensuring integration with organisational systems.
Engage with relevant third parties regarding maintenance, upgrades, and implementations relating to financial systems.
Actively identify opportunities for automation to improve efficiency.
Business Partnering
Build partnerships and maintain strong working relationships with team managers to support the development of financial knowledge and understanding across the organisation.
Engage with managers across the organisation to ensure alignment of processes.
Collaborate across teams to deliver on key strategic and organisational projects.
Arrange finance-related cross-organisational training as required.
Provide financial analysis to support managers in their decision-making where required.
Support and report on the income elements of major fundraising campaigns, ensuring accountability and strong financial oversight.
Lead cross-functional initiatives in a dynamic, high-demand environment, ensuring clarity, stability, and forward momentum.
Regulatory and Control Environment
Maintain a strong financial control environment ensuring compliance with relevant legislative requirements.
Provide support in relation to the annual statutory audit.
Review and approve finance policies and controls, to ensure they are adequate and in line with best practice.
Support the Legal and Compliance Team in relation to internal audit work, including leading any Finance Team related internal audits.
Support the Legal and Compliance Team in relation to the organisational risk register.
Act as Data Steward for the Finance Team with reference to GDPR regulations.
General
Maintain confidentiality regarding financial information at all times, ensuring compliance with Data Protection legislation.
Assist with special projects, as required, to enhance the Society’s financial objectives.
Undertake any other duties commensurate with the role.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential:
A professional accounting qualification.
A minimum of 5 years relevant work experience.
Demonstrated experience delivering systems or process improvements.
At least 2 years of team management experience.
Experience using an accounting software, and a CRM system.
Excellent MS Excel skills.
Desirable:
Experience in leading and managing internal audits.
Experience working with Business Central (or Navision), MS Dynamics, and Power-BI.
Advanced Excel skills, e.g. complex formulas.
Experience in a not-for-profit environment.
