Due to significant growth across our Water Catchment Management business, we’re looking for talented Hydraulic Water Modellers to join our team in Ireland, supporting major frameworks with leading water companies delivering some of the largest Flood Risk Managment frameworks ever seen.
Alongside playing a key role in the development of our our innovative solutions and products, including Flood Modeller, the market leading lood modelling solution, you will be integral to the deliver of programmes that protect the environment, reduce flood risk brining lasting value to communities. From early planning to detailed design and delivery, your work will span the full project lifecycle giving you exposure to technically diverse and impactful projects designed to protect future generations.
With experience in 1D and 1D-2D hydraulic modelling for a wide scope of projects involving river, coastal and surface water modelling for flood mapping studies, surface water management plans, flood strategies and other flood management projects, you will work on and lead projects covering all aspects of modelling including - flood risk, reservoir safety and design, water resources, coastal, fluvial and urban flooding using industry tools.

Remit and responsibilities, will include:
- Hydraulic modelling using industry standard software (Flood Modeller, Tuflow, InfoWorks, HEC-RAS) for model development, calibration, interpretation, and interrogation of 1D and 1D/2D models.
- Analysing, managing, and interpreting data using GIS software (ArcGIS, MapInfo, QGIS) and analytical tools (R and Python).
- Contributing your own innovative ideas, challenging the norm, and helping us all deliver better solutions for our clients.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver client outcomes.
- Write, develop and review complex technical reports.
- Contribute to a supportive team environment with active involvement in mentoring and professional development
- Peer review and checking of calculations and technical deliverables.
With multiple roles beeing created we would be delighted to hear from candidates with a real mix of the following skills and attributes:
- Degree/Meng/Msc in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Geography, Mathematics or a related discipline
- Keen to achieve or already chartered status with an appropriate Professional Body (preferably ICE or CIWEM).
- Experience in implementing 1D and 2D modelling techniques for river, urban and coastal flooding applications.
- Sound knowledge and experience of industry standard software, such as Flood Modeller and Tuflow (InfoWorks ICM river, drainage and 2D modelling) for model development, calibration, interpretation and interrogation of 1D and 1D/2D models.
- Experience of technical assurance of modelling outputs
- Demonstrable experience of hydrological calculations
- Ability to mentor colleagues and peers, supporting personal, skills and career development, ensuring the continued growth of the teams capability footprint.
