Your impact

As a Principal Ecologist at Jacobs, you’ll play a key role in delivering some of the most high-profile infrastructure and environmental projects in Europe from the East Coast Rail Infrastructure Protection Programme to the continent’s largest coastal protection and underground cable schemes.

Based in Ireland, you’ll join a close-knit team of ecologists in Dublin and Cork, supported by a wider UK network. Your work will directly contribute to protecting biodiversity, shaping sustainable infrastructure, and influencing environmental outcomes on a national and international scale.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilizing experience in Environmental Impact Assessment and Appropriate Assessment.
  • Engaging with global communities of practice, participating in conferences, presentations, client meetings, and training events.
  • Working in multidisciplinary teams to ensure ecology requirements are recognized and addressed.
  • Acting as the first point of contact for expert advice to clients and stakeholders.
  • Engaging with internal and external clients, customers, and environmental regulators to develop future workstreams, opportunities, and pipelines.

Here's what you'll need
  • A background in ecology with significant relevant industry experience. 
  • Chartered membership of a professional body (or experience to obtain chartership)
