As our Rail Civils Lead, you’ll be at the forefront of delivering complex, high‑impact railway civils projects—championing technical excellence, driving safe and efficient delivery, and inspiring teams to push the boundaries of innovation. Working closely with multidisciplinary colleagues across Ireland, the UK, and our global network, you’ll play a pivotal part in raising standards, growing our capability, and delivering solutions that keep Ireland moving.
Key deliverables: (not limited to)
- Lead rail civils engineering activities across allocated projects, ensuring safe, sustainable, and cost‑effective outcomes.
- Oversee internal teams, contractors, designers, and specialist personnel to ensure appropriate competency and high‑quality delivery.
- Manage design and construction elements in line with relevant legislation, including CDM and CSM‑RA regulations.
- Provide expert advice on construction activities, testing, commissioning, and site supervision.
- Monitor performance of design partners, specialist consultants, and contractors.
- Support the development of innovative engineering solutions and best‑practice sharing across project teams.
- Collaborate with UK and wider global teams to support integrated delivery and cross‑regional rail civils projects.
- Degree, HNC, or equivalent relevant experience
- Rail, civils or relevant engineering experience
- Chartered member of an engineering discipline
- Experience in people leadership and client‑facing delivery roles
- Strong understanding of Irish Rail civil engineering standards and codes
- Competency in CDM, CSM‑RA, engineering management, risk assessment
- Understanding of independent assessment arrangements
- Experience of rail civils project development, approval processes, and deliverables
