Your impact

This challenging position involves working as part of a multi-discipline, highly interactive and coordinated team focused on projects including semiconductor manufacturing, assembly & test facilities, and other state of the art advanced facilities. We design of some of the most complex and specialized facilities being constructed today.

Projects for our clients include feasibility studies, long-range planning studies, and full design services including programming, schematic design, design development, construction documents, and services during construction for design/bid/build and design/build projects.

The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated individual with strong communication skills.  They will exhibit a passion and desire to apply their professional experience and knowledge in a team environment on technically challenging and professionally rewarding projects.  Our team is seeking a person who understands the importance of meeting their targeted commitments while being flexible to the ever-changing and fast paced environment of our clients’ sites.


Key responsibilities

  • Organize, assign, and delegate necessary tasks to other disciplines to produce construction documents.
  • Coordinates with Design Manager and Architectural Building Planner to develop a facility space plan and support space plan health.
  • Leads and drives development of integrated conceptual MEP equipment layouts and conveyance strategies.
  • Creates overall project utility conveyance drawings and aids disciplines in developing discipline specific layout criteria.
  • Facilitates Space Coordination meetings (including generating agenda and taking notes) and actively encourages discipline participation.
  • Generates conceptual space plan (e.g., plans, sections or elevations) incorporating equipment locations, MI/MO criteria, utility routing, access, code requirements and discipline specific layout criteria.
  • Understands the limitations of each discipline design needs to determine feasibility when setting up the space needs.
  • Proposes concept, size and locations of Primary Utility rack systems, Secondary Utility rack system and shared rack systems.
  • Generates section cut sketches outlining strategies for utility zone routing.
  • Develops utility location assignment sketches for major piping racks.
  • Interacts with the client, project management, and architects during initial project planning to help define building concepts.
  • Validates disciplines have considered necessary maintenance, code and vendor requirement in equipment layouts.
  • Provides real-time, face-to-face input to individual disciplines to solve design problems.
  • Arbitrates clashes that cannot be resolved by the disciplines.



Here's what you'll need
  • Minimum qualification of technical or associate’s degree/diploma in building mechanical/process engineering or a relevant field or a similar role.
  • At least 5 years of experience of design/construction space coordination in a BIM environment.
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam
  • Excellent English level - written and spoken. 
  • Knowledge of codes and standards related to the design MEP systems.
  • Adaptability to work within a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to interact with other engineering disciplines, clients, and vendors.


Ideally, You’ll Also Have

  • Experience in the design of mechanical/process systems.
  • Working knowledge or experience with any of the following software: Navisworks, CADWorx or SmartPlant 3D.
