Your impact

Join Jacobs Ireland at a pivotal time for the Irish water sector. With significant national investment in wastewater infrastructure, climate resilience and sustainable growth, this is a unique opportunity to help shape vital projects that protect communities, support development and safeguard Ireland’s natural environment.

As a Wastewater Modeller, you’ll play a key role in the delivery of major wastewater and drainage programmes across Ireland. Working alongside multidisciplinary teams and in partnership with leading public and private sector clients, your expertise will help deliver innovative, data‑driven solutions—from early feasibility and planning through to detailed design, construction support and long‑term asset performance.

At Jacobs, collaboration is central to how we work. You’ll contribute to projects spanning urban drainage, wastewater networks, flood risk management and CSO compliance, helping to address challenges linked to population growth, climate change and regulatory requirements across Ireland.

We’re seeking motivated professionals ready to take the next step in their career—those who want to be challenged, supported and empowered to make a meaningful impact. Whether you’re developing hydraulic models, assessing flood risk, or supporting climate‑resilient infrastructure, your work will directly contribute to better outcomes for Irish communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the technical delivery of projects and work closely with Project Managers to ensure robust, high‑quality solutions
  • Develop, build, verify and maintain wastewater and drainage hydraulic models (InfoWorks ICM)
  • Work as part of multidisciplinary teams across a range of projects, including model build, validation and performance assessment
  • Undertake optioneering and solutions development for sewer flooding, CSO compliance and capacity constraints
  • Investigate, analyse and resolve wastewater and drainage network issues
  • Scope and manage network surveys to support model updates and improvements
  • Review and manage contractor survey submissions on a weekly basis
  • Deliver technical reports, hydraulic modelling studies and engineering assessments
  • Develop modelled engineering solutions to mitigate the impacts of development, resolve sewer flooding and address unsatisfactory discharges
  • Assist with the preparation of cost estimates and modelling budgets
  • Supervise site surveys and field investigations as required
  • Plan, programme, coordinate and author project deliverables
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to graduate engineers and technicians

Join Jacobs and be part of a team shaping the future of Ireland’s water infrastructure—delivering smarter, more sustainable solutions for generations to come.

Here's what you'll need
  • Proficiency in wastewater and drainage modelling software such as InfoWorks ICM and InfoAsset Manager, applied within Irish wastewater networks and urban drainage systems
  • Working knowledge of GIS tools including ArcGIS and MapInfo for spatial analysis and integration with hydraulic models
  • Strong understanding of Irish client specifications, national standards and guidance, including those relevant to Uisce Éireann, local authorities and flood risk management
  • Demonstrable track record of technical delivery and client satisfaction within the Irish water and wastewater sector
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with multidisciplinary internal teams and external stakeholders across Ireland
  • Flexible and organised approach, with the ability to multi‑task, prioritise workloads and meet project deadlines in a dynamic consultancy environment
