What you will do
As a Sprinkler Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and delivery of fire suppression systems that protect people, property, and critical infrastructure. Based in our Cork office, you will work closely with an experienced design team, receiving structured training and ongoing support as you develop your technical capability and industry knowledge.
You will design sprinkler and fire suppression systems using site surveys and supplied drawings, supporting projects from concept through to installation and handover, while ensuring compliance with relevant standards and customer requirements.

How you will do it
- Produce sprinkler and fire suppression system designs using AutoCAD
- Ensure design schedules are met for approval, fabrication, and construction
- Liaise with Sales, Contracts Managers, site teams, and foremen to align designs with on‑site requirements
- Complete Design Risk Assessments
- Coordinate with Purchasing/Stores regarding sprinkler head types and material availability
- Check and verify all drawings prior to issue
- Issue drawings and design information to Contracts Managers and site teams
- Prepare and issue FM, NFPA, and EN completion certificates for handover packs
- Provide design information required for hydraulic data plate manufacture
What we look for
Essential
- Design experience within a mechanical, electrical, industrial, or building services environment
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (3D capability is an advantage)
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Full driving licence
Preferred
- Previous sprinkler design experience or fire suppression knowledge
- Experience using Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of other fire suppression systems beyond sprinklers
